Ignite Student Ministries is designed for students grades 7 through 12 and meets in the Youth Café and Fellowship Hall every Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. Students from all over the Tulsa Metro area come early to meet new people, hang with friends or play pool, foosball, and air hockey.
Ignite develops relationships which provide a strong foundation for students to build upon throughout their school career.
Weekly Services
Our weekly services begin a few minutes after 7:00 p.m. with contemporary praise and worship music by our student praise band. Service continues with a combination of videos, games, and music designed to provide an opportunity for faith to grow and relationships to develop, The Ignite service concludes with a relevant and humorous message by Pastor Chris.
The first Thursday of each month is Friend Night at Ignite. Friend Night is a themed service which provides students an opportunity to invite others to give Ignite a try. We serve food and drinks at 6:30 p.m. in the Youth Café.
Final Take Drama Team
Final Take Drama Team is a student led drama team that performs human videos for both ministry and competition. Final Take uses drama as a powerful medium to communicate to both fellow students and adults.
Speed the Light
Speed the Light is an integral part of the strategy we use at Ignite Student Ministries. Speed the Light is a student led missions program that raises money to buy vehicles, motorcycles, bicycles, boats, canoes, sound systems, and video equipment for missionaries both stateside and around the world. Anything a missionary needs to help spread the gospel more efficiently is purchased by the giving and fundraising of students from all across the nation.
By giving students the opportunity to give to STL, we are striving to develop an awareness of the spiritual needs and struggles of people around the world. The theme for 2007 is Sacrifice based on 2 Samuel 24:24, “I won’t offer sacrifices and offerings to the Lord that cost me nothing.”
Yearly Events
Throughout the year, Ignite offers many trips, activities, service opportunities, and retreats for students. Every year in June, Ignite participates in the Oklahoma Youth Ministries Summer Camps. We also participate in a Fall Student Convention in November, a Winter retreat in January, and a Spring Breakaway in March. We plan a yearly missions trip for high school students as well as monthly events across the Tulsa metro area.
